If you're changing earrings from pierced to non-pierced, silver-plate, gold-plate and antique finishes are all priced the same. I’ll select the best color for your earrings, or you may specify.  If you change to sterling or gold-filled non-pierced findings, additional charges will apply.

If you reached this page via a search looking for non-pierced earrings, please click on the earring navigation bar links to see the largest selection of non-pierced  original earrings anywhere!  Choose your favorite styles, then come back to this page and choose the earring backs.

If you're interested in purchasing earring backs (without the earrings) please scroll down below the picture chart.  Prices for pierced earring backs are on another page.  I also carry headpins, jumprings and other findings and beads in copper, sterling and gold-filled.

Ask if you want the clips loosened a little; otherwise the back and front are flush. Or if you want to do it yourself:

HOW TO LOOSEN CLIPS

First of all, it’s not necessary at all with screw backs, and probably not on screw-clip combo either. All you need is a flat-nosed pliers, with a fairly thin tip. On either of the curves on the wire part that goes below the ear (either the curve nearer to the hanging loop, or the curve near the clip mechanism) — insert the pliers, near the plier tips. Slightly flatten out the curve by pushing the pliers gently together. If you over-flatten, you can bend curve back, but if you do this too many times, the wire will break.

*note on antique finish:  all items are 10¢/pair for antiqueing, added to the base price of the finding.  I do the work by hand.  Findings are put in a chemical solution, rinsed and dried.  There are four available finishes:
1. industrial funk (full-strength chemical solution) -- gray-black with occasional (although not much) tiny flecks of rust.  All findings (except nickel color, which won't antique) are available in this color.
2. pewterish (half-strength solution) -- a little lighter than industrial.  Available for silver plate findings, but not nickel.
3. multi brass (half-strength solution) -- varying shades of light to dark-dark brass.  This is the color I get with gold plated clips and screw-clips.  I have no idea why 100 pieces in the same solution come out in 100 different colors.
4. light-grayish brass (half-strength solution) -- this is the color that the 4.5mm gold tone screw backs turn.  Slight rainbow flash.

Once I've rinsed and dried the pieces, their color is stable and the plating does not flake off or turn darker.
